New Year, New Us

To be perfectly honest I’m not really a fan of New Year’s Eve and never really have been.  My lovely Mummy’s birthday falls on new years day and i’d much rather enjoy this day, hangover free and ready to face the new year ahead.

 

New year brings new hope, a new chapter and the chance to make changes.  Every year I always think, this is the year I’m going to get more organised.  This is the year I’m going to get more healthy and above all try to dedicate a bit of time looking after myself.

 

With a house half renovated and two small children this is near impossible.  Life is getting easier though.  The exhausting, totally draining sleepless nights that come hand in hand with a baby are becoming a distant memory.  M and J are really starting to play together and in the blink of an eye things have really changed.  It’s this time that in the midst of the newborn haze you just cannot picture, however hard you try.  But Mummy’s reading this, don’t give up hope it does get easier, a lot easier!

 

So yes, 2016 is hopefully going to be that year when I can enjoy a bit of time out.  This doesn’t have to mean regular weekend trips to a spa (although this sounds amaze).  It can just be something that can be done easily at home and with little cost.  It just needs to be done regularly so you know that in the busy, none stop days of being Mummy, you have something to look forward to at the end of the day.

 

I started having these baths about 12 months ago and cannot tell you how relaxed you feel after it.  They are a perfect post-Christmas treat and are known to draw out toxins, restore PH balance and lower stress inducing hormones. If you can, keep it for after the babies are in bed so you can enjoy uninterrupted.

 

All You Need Is;

A hand full of epsom salts

10 drops of lavender essential oil

Lavender petals are optional

 

The above can be added straight into a warm running bath.

 

 

Then all you have to do is relax and enjoy.

 

 

Once a week for 20 minutes, sit in a hot bath that contains a handful of Epsom salts, 10 drops of lavender essential oil, and a half cup of baking soda. This combo draws out toxins, lowers stress-related hormones, and balances your pH levels.  I need to try this sometime this weekend!:
