This has got to be one of our cutest purchases of the summer.
A real garden bench on a minature scale. I’ve not seen anything like it before, and while there are lots of children’s garden furniture items on the market this is cute and also fits into the garden beautifully.
Surprisingly, it came from B and M and we managed to snap it up when it was on offer for £14.00! We were really excited to get home open it and put in pride of place.
That’s where the excitement ended. The bench was such poor quality it was actually unusable, especially for little people toddling around in shorts, legs exposed. The bench, whilst sturdy, just about went together so it stood up straight, obviously needed help from hubby on that one! It then needed a lot of sanding to take off all the rough edges. The wood was cheap so we decided to give it a coat with Cuprinol Antique Pine stain and wow, what a difference.
The animal detailing is really highlighted and it looks amazing. I think the pictures don’t actually do it justice, it looks lovely and i’m so happy with it now. Glad I bought it and think it will be in our garden for many years to come.
