Today was one of those days were breakfast seemed to run into lunch, the pile of washing in the basket seems ten times bigger now than it did this morning despite doing two loads of washing, (would have been three if the weather was better) and the small task that was tidying M’s bedroom was a no go.
And why? I had a boisterous 18 month old who definitely has a thing for leaving a trail of destruction wherever he goes and I have M. M like most 4 1/2 year olds wants to be involved in absolutely everything, which is great but I hate to say it can be a little frustrating when you are trying to get so many things done in so little time, as us mums do.
Today, I stopped and thought. And imagined, come September the 4 1/2 year old, my 4 1/2 year old wont be standing next to me any longer. Can i help with that?, Can i have a go of that? What are you doing there? She will be at full time, big school and there will be no looking back.
And it made me realise that although I always try my best not to get frustrated, just to try that little bit harder. The washing can wait, the tidying can wait. My 4 1/2 year old M won’t.
So on that note my quote for this week is;
“Tell me and I’ll forget. Teach me and I’ll remember. Involve me and I’ll learn”- Benjamin Franklin
